Accessibility

Accessibility at Vitalia.

We support people with disabilities. It would be incoherent for our own website to exclude them. This page states the standard we hold this site to, what we have fixed, what is still wrong, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.

The standard we aim for

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We are not claiming full conformance — this site has not yet been audited by an independent accessibility specialist, and the known gaps below are real. We would rather tell you that plainly than display a badge we have not earned.

What works

Keyboard access — every control, including the FAQ answers and the application form, can be reached and operated without a mouse. Each page starts with a “Skip to main content” link.
Visible focus — whatever you are on is outlined clearly, on every background.
Contrast — all body and label text meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 minimum, including the footer and the compliance bar.
Reduced motion — if your device asks for less motion, this site stops animating and stops auto-scrolling. Nothing moves that you did not ask to move.
Screen readers — pages use proper landmarks and a correct heading order; form errors move focus to the field that needs attention.
Works without JavaScript — if scripts are blocked or fail, the content still appears rather than leaving a blank page.

Known limitations

These are real and we are not hiding them:

  • This site is only in English. Our staff speak English, Spanish, Amharic, and Swahili, but the website does not yet. If you would rather read or talk about our services in your language, call us — a person who speaks it will answer.
  • No independent audit yet. Our conformance claims are based on our own testing.
  • External links and documents. The Resource Hub links to Oregon state and county websites and to documents we do not control or maintain. Their accessibility is not ours to guarantee.
  • We have not tested with every assistive technology. If yours does not work here, that is useful information and we want it.

Tell us about a barrier

If any part of this site keeps you from getting information or reaching us, contact us and we will fix it — and in the meantime we will give you what you needed by phone, email, or in person. You do not have to use this website to reach Vitalia. You never did.
